Why Cars Kill Cities

🚗 This could be controversial. More roads don’t fix traffic. More parking doesn’t improve access.

The more we build for cars, the less functional our cities become.

> The Illusion of Access: Cars feel fast, but they slow cities down
> The Paradox of Speed: Individual trips seem quicker, but congestion and sprawl erase those gains
> False Access vs. Real Access: Walkable cities bring destinations closer. Car-centric cities push them further away

Every new highway, parking lot, and widened road forces more car dependency, not less.

We need a fundamental shift in how we design mobility. Walkability, cycling, and transit don’t limit access; they expand it.
